Work on Phase 1 of Community Development Plan 2016 – 2020 is due to commence mid to end of March 2018!
Over the past two years, our Facilities and Development sub-Committee have worked on the new layout of Community Field and entrance to Community Hall with the Project Engineer, applied for Planning Permission, applied for Grants, and together with the Fundraising & Finance sub-Committee, applied for Loan facilities and arranged a number of Fundraising events.
Planning Permissions are approved, Grants from Town & Village scheme, Sport Capital Program and South Tipperary Development Company are approved, Finance from Clann Credo is approved.
All Works went to e-tender in compliance with Grants regulations and the successful contractor is PST Sport. (PSTsport.com)
Phase 1 comprises Lighted Walkway, Entrance Reconfiguration, Grass Pitches Development, Perimeter Fencing. Total Cost €312k. Grants approved €252k. Shortfall €60k.
Funds raised to date have been used to cover outlay on legal costs, planning permission applications, part of Engineers costs, miscellaneous other expenses.
Works are expected to be completed by end June, 2018.
Community Field will not be available for use 2018 and most of 2019.
Alternative arrangements for training and games are in hand.
Walkway will be ready for use early July 2018.
To complete Phase 1, further Fund Raising Events will take place during 2018.
The support of the local Community and friends further afield is requested and appreciated so that Finance Loans can be kept to a minimum.
Phase 2 of Development Plan comprising Children’s Playground, All Weather Pitch and Car Park will be addressed during 2019 and 2020.
Support of persons willing to volunteer time to this Community Development project is requested and will be very appreciated.
