Rosegreen Rangers Soccer Club

Rosegreen Rangers was founded along with the TSDL in 1977 in the Motel on the old Dublin road from Cashel. The members present on that night were Gabriel Shelly (RIP), Jim O’Brien and Jim Cormack.

A committee was then formed led by chairman Jimmy Moloney and the above mentioned gentlemen who were joined a little later by Mr. Tom Cormack and Mr. Dinny Ryan who all still remain great supporters of the club.

The affiliation fees at that time were £12.00 and were paid in full by Mr. Jimmy Moloney. A set of GAA jerseys were borrowed from New Inn GAA club by Mr Dinny Ryan. At the time players were not allowed play both GAA and soccer. We were later able to purchase a second hand set of jerseys for the princely sum of £20.00 from Carrick United FC. Luckily we now have great local sponsors.

Thankfully the club is going from strength to strength led by Mr. Gary Martin Chairman, Mrs. Theresa Downey secretary, PRO Mr. Trevor Downey and joint treasurer Ms. Sinead Kelly/Mrs. Theresa Downey with committee members Killian Ryan, Denis Golden, Davy Walsh, Vinny Downey, Ger O’Connor and Danny Healy.

The team are playing very well in the first division at present due to the management team of Ger O’Connor, Danny Healy and Davy Walsh.
