We started our Daffodil Project in October 2013. Each student in our school planted one daffodil bulb around our school grounds. Then, in March 2014 these daffodils bloomed. On Daffodil Day we harvested the daffodils. Each child in the school donated €2 and in return got a daffodil to bring home. For the following two years we did the same. The daffodils multiplied and we have made lots of money. We decided that the money we raised should go to the Caroline Foundation for Cancer Research.
On April 27th 2016, Helen from the Caroline Foundation came to our school to accept the money we had raised. She told us all about the Caroline Foundation, which we found very interesting. We then presented a cheque for €600 to Helen. We chose a girl from 4th Class, Lilly, to present the cheque to Helen. Lilly had recently donated her hair to the Rapunzel Foundation. Hopefully, we will continue this Daffodil Project for many years to come.
